Can You Work Multiple Jobs While on OPT

A lot of people do not realize this is an option but working multiple jobs while on OPT is allowed as long as every position is directly related to your degree and you are working at least 20 hours per week across all positions combined. Think of it like one company needing a software engineer and another needing a data analyst — if both roles connect to your computer science degree and you are putting in the hours that is a compliant situation. There is no E-Verify requirement for regular OPT and no separate training plan needed for each employer, which makes it a little more flexible than STEM OPT. That said your DSO still needs to know about your employment and every job still has to genuinely relate to your field of study — working a completely unrelated second job to make extra money is not allowed and can put your status at risk.
